Now Hiring: Design Engineer

Avectus is seeking a new full time Designer to join our growing team of professionals.  Our design team closely collaborates with one another, as well as with sales and installation teams in order to carry a project from the initial design consultation through project completion.  The ideal candidate must possess patience and an analytical, detail oriented work ethic. 


  • Generate Project Quote Documents - Work with the sales team and clients to evaluate the user’s needs in order to develop project scopes, specifications, budgets and proposals
  • Generate System Wiring and Architectural Drawings – Coordinate between multiple trades to create design and build documentation to be used in the sales and installation process
  • Administrative Tasks – Manage product library and pricing, develop workflow and process strategies, and establish best practices
  • Ongoing Education – Research products as required, meet with vendors to learn about new products and emerging trends and attend professional education


  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate easily with others
  • Ability to work with multiple time sensitive projects and meet deadlines
  • Knowledgeable in control system programming and logic
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Comfortable with AutoCad, Visio and other drawing software
  • Familiar with computer networking fundamentals


  • 2+ years experience in the AV industry
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or comparable post-secondary education in a relevant discipline such as engineering, electrical, audio, video production or electronic arts
  • InfoComm CTS, CTS-I or CTS-D preferred
